Gratitude

“GRATITUDE unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feat, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
 - Melanie Beattie

Here is my ever-growing list of things I am grateful for:

  • I am grateful for a new reader, Welcome PlanetNicola.
  • I am grateful for my growing sense of self assurance.
  • I am grateful for both my cats, and that they haven’t gotten sick much.
  • I am grateful for the ability to think and reflect.
  • I am grateful for the opportunity to create who I want to be, even if it takes tons of work and years and years.
  • I am grateful to my parents for unconditional support and love.
  • I am grateful for all the wonderful people I have met on WordPress.
  • I am grateful for the ability to read and write.
  • I am grateful that I called my surgeon this morning and could get an appointment for this same morning.
  • I am grateful for modern western medicine, and my free access to healthcare.
  • I am grateful that I am able to see, hear, smell, touch and taste.
  • I am grateful that I can walk.
  • I am grateful that I can afford to feed myself, even if I can’t always afford the most expensive, or healthiest, food.
  • I am grateful for this blog, this free space where I can express anything I want.

    Hi

thank you for the invitation to read your blog. I love your list.

Well done you. How’s the photography going?
    Hello!
Thanks! It is really my pleasure that you are here! Um… Photography is not so fun when it is -30 out and walking is a health risk! :P Although this winter has been rather mild, the drastic changes in temperature here has made everything rather icy. Maybe I will break out my camera soon though. The sidewalks are starting to be cement again… It was something that made me feel good.

I’m grateful for S. who used my list as an inspiration for this page. xo
And for your comment reply style! I just don’t want to be my top comment-er! ox

My gratitude list goes on forever – but I’m grateful to be alive. How doe you set up his clever comment reply style? I, too, am fed up of being my main commenter :-)

      Hi Cat,
To reply with bolded type you go to ‘manage comments’ in your dashboard and locate the comment you want to reply to. At the bottom of the comment there will be a list of things you can do for the comment, like reply, approve ect. Choose ‘Edit’ then type away at the bottom. To make the text bold (Although I am sure you know this little tip) highlight your response and press ctrl and B or choose the bold icon from the editor.
I hope this helps! I stopped replying to my comments this way because it is more time consuming than pressing reply on the dropdown comments.
I hope you are keeping cool if your weather is anything like our unseasonally warm temps of +40′C!
      Best,
      xo – S.
